International Commission for Dalit Rights (“ICDR International”) Advisory Committee is designed to provide the substantive programmatic advice and policy guidance. The Advisory Committee has played an important role in recruiting members of volunteers and tying ICDR International to the broader activist and academic community concerned with caste-based racial injustice, inequality, exclusion and discrimination.
As ICDR International engages in more multi-polar advocacy and takes on more complicated rights issues, our team rely on the advice of policy experts and strategic partners at all levels: global, cross-national and local. The Advisory Committee helps us identify and conceptualize emerging social justice, human/Dalit rights issues. The Advisory Committee members sharpen our strategy, policy, and advocacy, and connect us to key decision-makers, journalists, government officials, and social justice activists.
ICDR International Advisory Committee comprises people who have deep and broad experience in human rights, public policy, diversity, inclusion, political, and economic, broadly speaking, as well as in social justice, more specifically. Committee members usually represent the fields of law, journalism, entrepreneur, activism, academia, or other professions related to social justice and Dalit rights. They elicit great respect in their fields and communities and have good contacts with donors, journalists, and/or policymakers at national, regional and/or international levels. Finally, our Advisor disseminates our reports and statements to the media and other relevant outlets, such as conferences and universities.
