ICDR International is a leading global movement of people striving to eliminate Caste or Work and Descent-based Discrimination (CWDD), inequality and injustice. We campaign for the rights and dignity of nearly 280 million Dalits, marginalized and underprivileged people worldwide who face CWDD and Social Exclusion. With over 255 members across the globe, ICDR collaborates, networks, and provides technical support for its associates, civil society, government agencies, and the communities, as they strive to promote equal opportunities, civil rights, dignity, and rule of law. We empower Dalits, marginalized and underprivileged people, who often face disproportionate challenges and obstacles living a dignified life. We investigate, expose discrimination, educate and mobilize the public, provide community services, and campaign to leverage for changes in policy and transform societies.

About

ICDR International aims to create a safe space for low-income families and immigrants who require guidance through an often daunting and intimidating process by providing a myriad of resources and services . We collaborate with organisations and individuals to provide an abundance of educational services and guidance, including: immigration, employment and labor, family and domestic issues, and access to public health.

No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. This policy ensures that we stay aligned with the core values of ICDR—advocating for dignity and respect of all immigrants, regardless of economic status, race, caste, religion, or country of origin.

The Center acts as a referral agency in order to access public services offered by local, state and federal governments as well as acts as a bridge between law firms and communities for their required legal assistance. The center would aid the target population – who are cost-burdened to access public benefits and programs designed by various governments agencies. The center would ameliorate the challenges of these people by providing affordable community and immigration services and other public services through referrals to credible (public) service providers and litigation agencies. Some of the center’s services would include public healthcare, fair housing, workforce development, youth empowerment, training/seminars on immigration policies, USCIS forms preparation and completion, and DACA application.

The center would (among other things) advocate for civil rights and justice for all; act as a liaison and referral agent; and collaborate with community-based organizations, public and private firms, and nonprofits and government agencies to educate and build awareness within the DMV people. The center has already gained the support and affiliations of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, various law firms, civil rights organizations, human rights organizations, community-based organizations, diaspora organizations, and many line agencies of local, state, and federal governments.

Our Mission

ICDR’s Center for Community and Immigration Service Program mission is to provide affordable immigration legal service and civil rights-related educational services to diverse immigrant and low-income communities. We advocate for the dignity and respect of all immigrants, other diverse minorities and low-income communities regardless of their race, caste, religion, or country of origin.
